Let’s Talk About Distance Reiki
I know you’ve been curious about this – how healing can happen even when you’re not in the same room, or even the same city. It sounds a bit out-there at first, right? I thought the same thing when I started learning about Distance Reiki. But it’s actually one of the most beautiful and natural things once you feel it.
Let me walk you through it, heart to heart. And if you scroll down to the bottom there is a free pdf download about what to expect from a Reiki session.
So what is Distance Reiki?
Reiki is this gentle, intelligent energy – life force – that flows through all of us. In a regular session, it’s shared hands-on or just above the body. But when we move into what’s called Distance Reiki, it means the energy is sent to you even though we’re not physically together.
Sounds a little magical? It kind of is, but in a grounded way. It’s not about “doing” something to you. It’s more like creating a channel of support, love, and healing, and offering it with full intention and care. The energy does the rest.
How does it work from a distance?
Here’s the thing: energy isn’t bound by geography. Just like you can feel someone’s love from afar – Reiki, too, travels through connection, through focus, through that deep trust in something larger than us.
There’s a symbol in Reiki Level 2 that we use that helps bridge that gap in time and space. With that, I can tune in to your energy, wherever you are. I don’t need a photo or a personal object (though you can share those if it feels good). Just your permission and willingness to receive.
What would a session feel like?
If we were setting this up, I’d suggest a time that works for you – a pocket of stillness where you can lie down or sit quietly. Some people feel warmth, tingles, or emotions rising and softening. Some fall asleep. Others don’t feel anything at all during the session, but later realise they feel lighter, clearer, or more grounded.
There’s no right or wrong way. The energy always meets you where you are, and it always supports your highest good.
“I lay on the bed and when I closed my eyes I started to see pastel shades behind my eyelids, which started to form a sky like vista, like clouds at sunset sort of vibe. Difficult to explain.
Then I noticed a very faint buzzing, more of a vibration … I got up after about half an hour and as I walked downstairs, I could still feel it and as I did not ask how long the session would last, and I guessed you had finished. Then I saw your message saying you had finished, so you were still sending Reiki after I got up, therefore I think this faint vibration was you! Thanks”
Who is Distance Reiki good for?
Honestly? Anyone. But especially:
If you’re dealing with stress, grief, or just feel stuck and can’t quite explain why.
If you’re healing from something physical but can’t make it to a session.
If life’s just… a lot, and you need a pause, a reset, some unseen hands holding you.
It’s also wonderful for children, elders and even your pets.
Reiki flows with pure intention and love, always. I know it sounds soft, and it is – but it’s powerful.
This isn’t about “fixing” anything. It’s about remembering. Realigning. Letting your own body and spirit do what they’re naturally designed to do, heal, restore, return to balance.
And, even if you don’t fully understand it yet (none of us really do), that’s okay. You don’t need to “believe hard” for it to work. You just need to be open, even a little. Reiki finds its way.
Whenever you feel ready, I’d love to hold that space for you.
With warmth
Bo
