Who I am

This website and practice belong to Jennie Lowes, trading as The Barefoot Healers, NIF PT271602996, based in Caldas da Rainha, Portugal. My contact details are at the end of this page.

What I offer, and what I do not

I offer medical astrology readings, integrative health coaching programmes, energy work and therapeutic massage, in person and online. My work supports your own health choices with education, guidance and practical tools.

I am a registered nurse with the Ordem dos Enfermeiros in Portugal and I bring that clinical knowledge to my work, but in this practice I do not act as your nurse or doctor. I do not diagnose, treat or prescribe, and my work is not a substitute for medical care. Please keep seeing your doctor and other health professionals, and never stop or change prescribed medication without their advice. Any suggestion about food, supplements, herbs or tests is for you to discuss with your doctor first, especially if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, taking medication or living with a medical condition.

The articles, guides, quizzes and assessment on this website are for education. They are not medical advice, and the results of a quiz or assessment are not a diagnosis.

Booking and payment

Readings, calls and massage are booked through my Google Calendar booking pages. Programmes are bought through secure Stripe payment pages, either in full or by a deposit followed by monthly payments, as chosen at checkout. Monthly payments are taken automatically by Stripe; if one fails I will let you know, and sessions pause until it is settled.

Prices are shown on the Work With Me page and on each booking or payment page, and include VAT where it applies. I may change prices for future bookings, but never for something you have already paid for.

Moving or cancelling a session

You can move or cancel a session free of charge up to 24 hours before it starts, or 48 hours for a medical astrology reading, which needs preparation time, using the link in your confirmation email.

A session missed or cancelled with less notice carries a late cancellation fee of 25 per cent of that session's price. For a single paid session I refund the other 75 per cent. For a programme session, the session is moved and the fee is invoiced separately.

If I need to cancel, I will offer you a new time or, for a single session, a full refund.

Programmes

Your programme's sessions, what is included and its price are as shown on the page where you paid. Sessions are booked through your private booking link and should be used within the length of the programme plus four weeks. Unused sessions cannot be carried over or refunded after that.

Recordings and confidentiality

I only record a session with your consent, and recordings are shared only with you. Everything you share with me is confidential, with the few exceptions set out in the Client Agreement and the Privacy Policy, such as a serious risk of harm to you or someone else.

Between sessions and emergencies

Email and messages are not monitored for emergencies. If you feel unwell or in crisis, contact your doctor, call 112 in Portugal, or the emergency number where you are.

Using this website

The words, pictures, guides and designs on this website are mine or used with permission. You are welcome to read, share links to and print pages for your own use. Please do not copy, sell or republish them without my written permission.

Links to other websites are there because I think they are useful. I am not responsible for their content or how they handle your information.

I work hard to keep this website accurate and available, but I cannot promise it will always be free of errors or interruptions.

My responsibility

I hold professional indemnity insurance. I am not responsible for decisions you make about your health without medical advice, or for losses I could not reasonably have foreseen. Nothing in these terms limits my responsibility where the law does not allow it to be limited, or affects your rights as a consumer.

Age

You must be 18 or over to book, or have a parent or guardian agree with you.

Complaints and the law

If something is not right, please tell me first and I will do my best to put it right. You can also use the Livro de Reclamações (livroreclamacoes.pt). These terms are governed by Portuguese law.

Changes to these terms

I may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top shows the latest version. Changes never apply to something you have already booked or paid for.
